Our Journey
For five years, Joy and Tait Cruse walked closely with God while their son, Connor, battled stage IV cancer. Throughout this time, their primary focus was to navigate through the toughest battle of their lives without losing their hope in Christ.
Since then, the Cruse family has been working tirelessly to raise funds for pediatric cancer research projects and patient programs through the 501c3, non-profit organization they created in Connor's honor. TeamConnor Childhood Cancer Foundation has donated more than $2.3 million to support this mission since December 2008.
In the years since Connor's death, Joy has authored two books and donated the proceeds to TeamConnor to fund additional research. In Joy's first book, Hope Transformed, she offers a simple guide in a devotional / self-help format for readers to work through their own battles, while garnering strength from God even when the answer to your prayers is "No". Joy's second book, Have Courage, is written for children from Connor's perspective and tells how Connor and his family found courage, peace, strength, and joy during his battle with cancer.
